The Story of KR Blinds

KR Blinds are owned and operated by colourful husband and wife team Toni and Larry Geltch. Previously known as Kenray blinds they had recently stepped back into the business and took over management due to poor sales performance and unhappy customers. They wanted to turn the business around and grow their KR Blinds brand across the Sunshine Coast hinterland region. They were unsure but we could see the potential and worked with them to achieve some incredible results in just 12 months.

The Challenge Of Rebuilding The Business

The business had seen a significant drop in sales volume and quality of service. The online reputation was very poor, the website was essentially a text based landing page, and they had zero visibility in the organics on page one of Google for their area. It was clear from our research that with the right approach there was an opportunity to pick up business for a relatively wide catchment area. We initially focused on Google adwords search campaigns across the more popular services based on traffic volume. These campaigns performed well but the sheer volume of suppliers was driving the advertising costs up and although quoting the client was winning fewer jobs. Analysing the data we had so far we were able to build a clearer understanding of the competitive landscape and we decided to pivot the campaign focus to a more niche product. Combining this with custom landing pages and fresh ad copy, lead and sale volume increased immediately and the client had their best day sales on record.

The Customer's website was not performing well. It was essentially a one page site which was text heavy, had few call to actions, did not present all their products, had no gallery, little by way of SEO optimisation and spoke little about the owners who are key to the KR Blinds Brand. We produced a brand new website and launched it within 8 weeks, with every aspect from build, design, to written content executed in house. We created clear CTAs, contact forms, offer pages, and set up full event tracking to monitor performance.

Their Google reputation was poor sitting at 2.7 * rating containing very negative comments from unhappy customers. We focused on improving this as quickly as we could using our Ad On Review Feedback Tool. It was challenging because they had a small database with many unhappy customers but we were able to quickly repair and improve their reputation increasing it to 4.3* by filtering out negative feedback which was resolved offline. We also optimized the GMB listing to include all products, keywords, and full service offerings, building their local map pack SEO.
